Moving one piece or several items

Spry Movers provides furniture moving and delivery in Oceanside and North County. You may need to collect one item, move several pieces between homes, or coordinate furniture with a larger household move. Tell us what needs moving, where it is located, and where it should be placed at the destination.

A single item still needs a handling and access plan. A large sofa or cabinet can be difficult to carry through a narrow entrance even when the trip is short. Share photographs, approximate dimensions, and any known damage or loose parts before requesting an estimate.

Confirm pickup and delivery arrangements

Provide the full addresses, contact names, and preferred timing for both ends of the trip. If collecting from a seller, store, or other third party, confirm that the item is ready and that a responsible person can release it. Ask about collection hours, loading areas, and any check-in requirements.

Explain whether the piece is boxed, assembled, or already prepared for handling. Identify any packaging that needs to remain intact. At delivery, confirm when the property can be entered and which room should receive the item. Do not assume a collection request guarantees availability at a particular time.

Measure furniture and the route through the property

Measure the item and the openings it must pass through, including doors, hallway turns, stair landings, and elevator entrances. Check the route at both properties, not only at the destination. Photos of tight areas can help explain conditions that a doorway measurement alone does not capture.

Tell the team about stairs, slopes, gates, long carries, and the available truck parking. Point out delicate surfaces and pre-existing furniture damage. Avoid attempting a risky lift to test the route; if ordinary access looks unsuitable, discuss possible preparation or specialist handling before booking.

Ask about disassembly, reassembly, and special care

Some pieces can be easier to move after approved component removal, but not every item should be dismantled. Provide manufacturer instructions when available and ask which disassembly and reassembly tasks the crew can perform. Confirm the work and any extra handling or tools in the quote.

Keep removable hardware labeled with the correct item. Antiques, glass tops, unusual finishes, and fragile joints may need different protection from ordinary furniture. Ask whether special packing or another specialist is appropriate. Furniture delivery should not be assumed to include technical installation, mounting, disposal, or unrelated property work.

Request an estimate for your items

Estimate factors include item count and dimensions, handling requirements, access, travel, requested timing, and any preparation or assembly agreed. Ask what is included and how changes are handled if an item or access route differs from the information supplied.
